Felt rolls are used in press section. Its job is to provide support to the felt, stretch and guide the felt in the press section. It requires hard rubber cover with smooth finish and low wear & tear to increase the life of press felt.
Used to convey the wet felts through the machine, the felt rolls require a rock hard cover with high abrasion resistance to maintain a smooth surface finish and extend cover life.
In addition, the high abrasion resistant roll covers require release to resist stock build-up. A high coefficient of friction reduces felt slippage and a smooth finish minimizes felt wear.

The dryer felt carrying rolls guide and carry the felts through the dryer section where high temperatures are present.
Dryer felt roll covers must have good temperature, steam and abrasion resistance, good release to run clean, and excellent thermal shock resistance to resist cracking during normal wash-ups
